A Flickr friend's photographs are featured in a new book about the lighthouses of Vancouver Island. The book is titled "To The Lighthouse - An Explorer's Guide To The Island Lighthouses of Southwestern B.C." Authors are John Walls and Peter Johnson and the photographs are by Richard Paddle. The book is published by Heritage House and is definitely something a lighthouse lover should have.

I suppose the world won't be building any new lighthouses...though clearly we need light shining in every port. Have you any plans for more excursions? I hope all is well and you are both inspired and content in your days.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your thoughts. Yes I am still hoping to get to more lighthouses but the past year life has been busy and I have not had lots of opportunity. As to lighthouses, they still erect a few lights, although most are towers and not the old traditional types, although Taiwan did just build one on an island (probably more for political reasons). Many places are attempting to preserve the ones we have through government and private societies, etc. I have neglected my two blogs lately and will do better in 2016. Hope all is well with you. Cheers, Neal
