It is believed to be the oldest building in Caloundra. The light was in a state of disrepair and was restored by volunteers spearheaded by the local Lions Club. It is a 14 metre tall concrete tower with a signal station at the top, looking much like an airport control tower. Both lights can be found on Canberra Terrace on a hill in downtown Caloundra.
