Punta Pezzo Lighthouse, Villa San Giovanni, Italy
The Punta Pezzo Lighthouse is located in the city of Villa San Giovanni, Italy on the Strait of Messina. It is across the strait from the city of Messina and ferries run regulary between the two cities. This light was constructed in 1953. Unfortunatly my photo, taken in September 2011 is a bit of a distant view.
Someone asked me, "What is it you love about lighthouses?'
I guess it is because seeking out lighthouses as a hobby combines so many things that I enjoy: travel, the sea, being outdoors, photography and history.
So, having a lighthouse blog, allows me to share my love of lighthouses with others. Each post will be about a different lighthouse that I have visited and have photographed over the years. I hope you enjoy. I have also started a bird blog for the birds I have photographed (August 1, 2013).
