Faro de Palermo, Palermo, Sicily, Italy
The Faro de Palermo is a concrete tower located on the north mole in the main harbour at Palermo on the Island of Sicily in Italy. It is located in an industrial area of the port. The original station was established here in 1884. Photos taken in September 2011
Usually, industrial areas are not nice and people do not go there to visit because they know there is nothing to see. In Italy I guess everything is beautiful and worth seeing so they go anyways. The same happens in Argentina. The furnished apartments in buenos aires I stayed while I was there were located in industrial areas and tourists were there anyways! Kim
Someone asked me, "What is it you love about lighthouses?'
I guess it is because seeking out lighthouses as a hobby combines so many things that I enjoy: travel, the sea, being outdoors, photography and history.
So, having a lighthouse blog, allows me to share my love of lighthouses with others. Each post will be about a different lighthouse that I have visited and have photographed over the years. I hope you enjoy. I have also started a bird blog for the birds I have photographed (August 1, 2013).
