Georges Island Lighthouse, Halifax, Nova Scotia
Located on Georges Island in the Halifax Harbour, this light was built in 1919. Georges Island is near the Halifax Cruise Ship Terminal and the Halifax Harbour Walk. Photos taken in Sept. 2009.
We are taking a cruise from New York to Quebec City this fall with stops in Nova Scotia. I am hoping to be able to photograph this lighthouse then. Thanks for the information and thanks for stopping by my Lighthouse Musings blog.
When you dock at the cruise ship terminal in Halifax the lighthouse is directly across the way. And if you have a chance get to Peggy's Cove and the light there, I am sure they have day trips from the ship. Cheers
Someone asked me, "What is it you love about lighthouses?'
I guess it is because seeking out lighthouses as a hobby combines so many things that I enjoy: travel, the sea, being outdoors, photography and history.
So, having a lighthouse blog, allows me to share my love of lighthouses with others. Each post will be about a different lighthouse that I have visited and have photographed over the years. I hope you enjoy. I have also started a bird blog for the birds I have photographed (August 1, 2013).
