Cape Enrage Lighthouse, Alma, New Brunswick
This lighthouse is located on a high bluff overlooking the Bay of Fundy approximately 8 miles East of Alma, New Brunswick. The light was established in 1870. I visited the lighthouse in September 2009 and was fortunate enough to be there as the sun was rising. Photos taken in Sept. 2009.
I camped with a friend and my 2 dogs down below the lighthouse back in 1996. There's a beautiful picture of my dogs standing on the rocks in the heavy fog at low tide facing the cliff where the house stands. Although it's not visible in the picture, I do remember the foghorn blowing periodically. Great memory!
Someone asked me, "What is it you love about lighthouses?'
I guess it is because seeking out lighthouses as a hobby combines so many things that I enjoy: travel, the sea, being outdoors, photography and history.
So, having a lighthouse blog, allows me to share my love of lighthouses with others. Each post will be about a different lighthouse that I have visited and have photographed over the years. I hope you enjoy. I have also started a bird blog for the birds I have photographed (August 1, 2013).
nice. i love alma and the bay of fundy!
